CHARLOTTE, Apr. 8, 2025 – JLL Capital Markets announced that it led the advisory services to secure construction financing and joint-venture equity for Brooklyn & Church, a $250 million+ adaptive reuse, lifestyle residential and retail project that consists of 460 luxury apartments and 60,000 square feet of activated retail space in Charlotte, North Carolina.
JLL represented MRP Realty, Asana Partners and Rockefeller Group in arranging the construction loan and also facilitated joint-venture equity with Rockefeller Group as a co-developer on the project.
Brooklyn & Church, located at 526 S. Church St. in Charlotte's vibrant Uptown, will transform the former Duke Energy headquarters into a premier residential and curated retail destination. The project is strategically positioned across from Bank of America Stadium, offering residents an unmatched amenity rich living experience, access to over 40,000 employees within a five-minute walk, entertainment venues and cultural attractions.
The development will feature 460 industrial-style lofts and approximately 60,000 square feet of experiential retail. Amenities will include a resort-style private rooftop pool, fitness center and private group studio, coworking spaces and numerous shared common areas, 13’6” exposed ceilings and fulltime concierge service. Reusing the existing structure will significantly reduce the embodied carbon impact of the project compared to new construction.
Charlotte continues to be one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the United States, attracting young professionals and businesses with its strong economy and high quality of life. The Uptown submarket, in particular, has seen substantial growth and revitalization in recent years.

MRP Realty, in partnership with Asana Partners and Rockefeller Group, has begun construction with completion expected in early 2027.
