JLL acts as Scania’s advisor in a land search project for a new truck center and HQ

Scania has announced the signing of a land purchase agreement with the city of Vantaa. Scania will develop a new sustainable truck center and headquarters in Aviapolis, Vantaa. JLL acted as Scania’s representative and advisor in the project aimed to find a plot in capital region of Helsinki with good connections to main roads, within a short distance from Scania’s major clients. JLL’s digital mapping platform, ArcGIS, was used in the land search with great success. The project has set a carbon-neutral target, including ground-source heat and solar power. Scania leads the way in electrifying the transportation.

The construction of the new development project has already started with groundworks and is estimated to be completed by the end of 2024. The new property will offer 5,000 m2 of space for the truck center and 1,700 m2 of office space for 130 employees.

These types of service sector providers are crucial parts of functional and sustainable cities, even though the availability of suitable plots for them is limited. JLL created marketing materials and a story explaining why a truck center is a vital option as an end-user in a plot within Ring Road III.”
