JLL hires two project management experts to support Greater Boston

BOSTON, April 30, 2021 – JLL announced today that the firm has expanded its Project and Development Services (PDS) team with the addition of two new hires with several decades of strategic planning experience between them. Thomas Ellis accepted the role of Senior Vice President to expand Boston’s Higher Education, K-12 Education and Government market sectors, and Johnson Ip is joining JLL as a Senior Project Manager to focus on the region’s rapidly evolving life sciences industry.
Thomas and Johnson collectively bring over 50 years of experience to JLL’s PDS team responsible for project and development activities in Greater Boston. The duo adds to the team of professionals supporting JLL’s New England Managing Director Dermot Roe, who is responsible for all of JLL’s regional project management and development activities, strategic planning, business development and client relations.
“Greater Boston’s life sciences and higher education industries are quickly evolving,” said Dermot. “The addition of Thomas and Johnson to the team is a true testament of this ongoing evolution and I am thrilled to have them on board to play an instrumental role in expanding and meeting the growing regional needs of both of these industries, among others.”
With over 30 years of design and construction experience, Thomas Ellis is an accomplished executive with expertise in building design, construction management and regional company leadership. Thomas comes to JLL from CBRE | Heery, Inc. where he was responsible for all public sector operations in the six states that comprise the New England region and expanded business market diversity, developing customized integrated service and initiated building information modeling programs for key long-term clients.
Ip’s construction management experience spans both the owner and contractor side. Over 17 years, he was responsible for projects ranging from retail and senior living high rises in his early career to large corporate office projects. In his most recent role as Senior Project Manager at Arcadis, he oversaw lab and office projects for a diverse array of high-profile life sciences companies.
