JLL Hotels & Hospitality has completed a groundbreaking process to reimagine success for a publicly owned convention center

SEATTLE, March 29, 2022 – JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality Group announced today that the company has completed a process that supported the selection of a new operator and instituted new key performance measures for the Lynnwood Convention Center in Lynnwood, Washington.

JLL’s Global Tourism and Destination Development team, Property Management team and Retail team have engaged in an oversight and planning process, which includes the selection of Oakview Group Facilities as the new operator. The newly developed plan is a community-based, multidimensional approach to defining success for the convention center. The new measurements include environmental stewardship, commitment to local business, inclusive support for the community and more.

“JLL engaged with our board of directors in creating a new course that is more aligned with the mission of the Lynnwood Public Facilities District,” noted Janet Pope, Executive Director at Lynnwood Public Facilities District. “Bringing a new operator on with these expanded criteria for success has galvanized our community and key partners.”

The publicly owned Lynnwood Convention Center is a premier event facility in Snohomish County, 15 minutes north of Seattle. The center, which totals 34,000-square-feet, offers a variety of meeting spaces for events from weddings, trade shows, banquets, conventions and more.

The Lynnwood PFD was established under the authority of the Laws of the State of Washington, Chapter 165, Laws of 1999, pursuant to Ordinance 2266 of the City Council of the City of Lynnwood, passed August 24, 1999. Under RCW 35.57, the City has authority to form a public facilities district for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, maintaining and financing a regional center, which may be a convention center.
